A Brief History of Legion Branch 147 St. Bruno du Montarville
This historical summary is condensed from the book "Album Souvenir 1983-1993" written by Guy Mercier, Ken & Aline Henderson and many others.

The first charter to form a Legion Branch in St. Bruno was issued on April 13th 1948 and the first president was a Mr. Jules Rousseau.
This came about because a large number of veterans from the war opted to settle in St. Bruno and needed a place to meet their comrades in arms. Needless to say, there was no official Branch hall at the time, meetings being held in members homes and the likes.
Our current Branch hall, on Roberval in St. Bruno, was finally opened to members on July 25th 1983 after 3 years of real hard work by many volunteers.
